Working on the Bottling Line

“How would you like to help out with bottling next week?” the tasting room manager asked.

“That sounds great! I’d love to learn how the bottling process works!” I was practically jumping up and down with excitement.

This is my favorite natural area near Fort Collins: Red Mountain Open Space. The amount of open space around town is one of my favorite things about the place. This one is the farthest from town - about 45 minutes north, right on the Wyoming border. So it's never busy.

Woke up wearing one of my favorite t-shirts today. Woke up wearing one of my favorite t-shirts today. In case you can't read it, it says "no limits for women!" and lists the names of a bunch of historically important women. Like our rights, the text on this shirt has been steadily eroding away since the 80s. Are we going to let the 1970s be the high water mark for women's rights? What about other rights? Because this isn't the end.
.
And I can't even go join a protest because I seem to also have covid. So today can f*ck all the way off.

The Silver Peak trail...I haven't just been postin The Silver Peak trail...I haven't just been posting about this one mountain for days because I ran out of things to post about! If you want a lightly traveled, unique, challenging, and beautiful trail, this is it.
.
Did I mention, challenging? 3k feet in elevation gain over 4.5 miles. Dry desert air. Creatures rustling in the bushes and creating mini-landslides on the talus slopes - bears? Mountain lions? No, lizards. Ball bearing trail surface keeping you on your toes.
.
The reasons why we do it are obvious :)

Naturally, we saw a new fire from the top (pic five) which has by now mostly been contained and is no longer much of a threat.
